Death Alley – Black Magick Boogieland

Bounding out the speakers from the off like a sugar-high Andrex puppy with a bullet belt in its teeth and a shredded Aleister Crowley text in the background, Death Alley are deviant and devout followers of the riff, worshiping them like the casually moronic worship Russell Brand. Fully aware that the best riffs are the simplest – greasy and barely contained behind their own shit-eating grin, like a village idiot licking syrup off a Slinky – each spidery jitter down the fretboard brings a smile to the face that could get you arrested on a packed train. The only criticism would be that at almost 13 minutes, final track Supernatural Predator is about 8 minutes too long.
