Band of the Day: IRK

Name: IRK

Home: Leeds, UK

Genre: Alt-Noise (is that a thing?)

What they say: “three polite wee rascals from Leeds who make ugly, angular, noise-fused, math rock, consisting of drums, bass, and vocals”

What we say: Wonky, twitching, stabbing, jabbing alt-rock noise abuse that picks up exactly where Exit International and Castrovalva left off, with a good dose McClusky’s obtuseness thrown in for good measure to disorientate even the most sturdy.

What’s next? Self-produced debut album Recipes from the Bible is released 7 December
