Monkhammer Introduction

HEY!

We welcome everyone that has signed up to receive updates from Monkhammer Coffee! Soon, the roasting will pick up and the inventory will reflect that. We encourage you to try the sample pack! It is 35 grams of each of our roasts. The perfect 8 ounce cup of coffee is between 15 - 20 grams. The samples contain 2 cups of each roast. Our roasts do not follow the boring "light, medium, dark" pattern. Instead, we have adopted alternative naming:

 Half City

Half City is the traditional "Light Roast". Monkhammer Half City is a little more like a medium-light. See below for a little idea of the rationalization behind this.

Full City

Full City is step beyond the Half City. It is a medium but its a "Monkhammer Medium". The taste is bold and satisfying.

Italian Roast

Monkhammer "Italian Roast" is like the traditional "Dark", but with class and style. A Dark Roast is also called "French Roast" and "Vienna Roast".

There is a very common misconception about coffee, the roast levels, and the caffeine strengths. In short, "dark" coffee is NOT the strongest. It has a very bold taste, but the caffeine level is low. The caffeine is cooked off during and past that second crack. Once it is starts "carbonizing", the weaker it becomes. We decided that a light roast is the most boring taste profile ever created, so Monkhammer takes it almost to "medium". You get the caffeine AND the taste.

Once again, welcome to Monkhammer Coffee! We hope you enjoy our coffee as much as we enjoy it. Feel free to drop us a line at monkhammercoffee@gmail.com.
